This was my one South Australian shoot. It has been so lovely to just do my own thing!

I've been getting up at 6am and going to the gym with my ridiculously fit parents. Being shown up by 52 year olds before breakfast is always fun!

I've been drawing a lot with my gorgeous collection of soft pastels. They are just so beautiful! They are the most sensual medium I own. Each individual pastel is a completely different beast and I am loving getting to know them again. My drawings are still shocking – nowhere near as good as they were when I was 14 and drawing constantly – but it is getting there. Maybe one day I'll even post one.

I've been working on another project which you'll see the results of soon but let's just say for the moment that I smell of varnish and am very happy.

Holidays are good for the soul, it turns out (I had forgotten, it has been that long). Particularly holidays where one comes home and is spoiled by parents and makes a lot of quiet, introspective art.
