Hello all.
Because it is Christmas, I thought I would post an appeal.
As many of you know, I have just started a theatre company called 'I Must Not Theatre' and we are taking a show to the Adelaide Fringe Festival in 2009. The show is 'The John Lennon Play: In His Own Write' and I am both directing and designing it. To do this, obviously, we need money. We have been working so, so hard performing in fundraising cabarets and writing letters to organise funds and selling our various possessions but we are still have a long way to go. Now, obviously, aren't in a position to do so but if you can and if you have a desire to help support young Australian artists (no one in the company is over the age of 22) or if you have ever passed through my gallery and enjoyed what I do or have worked with my and thought 'she's a decent lass who works mighty hard', I would love you to consider making a small donation to support my company.
For those of you who don't know, I am a full time artist. I work exceptionally hard, frequently putting in 70 hour weeks in the theatre and my only 'days off' are usually spent modeling for other artists. I live off of youth allowance and use this to finance my art which is hard, believe me. Any donations would be so gratefully accepted! Consider it a gallery viewing donation, if you will or generousity or a very, VERY much appreciated Christmas present and know that you are supporting young artists get to one of the biggest Fringe Festivals in the world.

If it helps, I have just accepted into a very prestigious directing course which only takes six people from around the country. There is nothing I have directed on youtube at the moment so I can't show you my work but allow me to send you to some clips of the I Must Not Cabaret which we did to raise funds:
This is me singing 'Bring On The Men'. Yep. I used to be a singer. This was at the end of the night so my voice is getting pretty tired but I think it is still reasonably decent. For those of you who has never and will never get to see me perform, here you go! It is also a mighty sexy number and this is pretty rare to see me moving like this instead of my usual mild-mannered hippy shuffle. Ask anyone who knows me from real life.

This is ~lucyhotchin, Steph and myself singing 'At the ballet' from a chorus line. I am the last one to come on in this number but I am there. I enter at about 2:30 At the end you get to see us doing an inspirational dance number which is mighty silly. Oh and you can hear me speak in an American accent, if that is your sort of thing:

~lucyhotchin who is a member of my company singing 'Climbing Up Hill' from the musical 'The Last Five Years'. She is utterly hilarious in this! It was one of my favourite numbers of the night. This girl is mighty talented:

My boyfriend, Alex Roe, performing 'Wig in a box' from the rock cabaret 'Hedwig and the Angry Inch'. Yes, that is my sexy man in drag! I know. Hot. Hot. Hot. Right? Oh and myself and ~sarampage are doing backup vocals from somewhere behind the camera:

If you hunt around for more videos posted by the same person (lucyhotchin) you will find several more numbers from the night including 'The Cell Block Tango', 'Mixed Tape' from 'Avenue Q' (my other favourite number), ~sarampage singing one of her own compositions, 'Get Happy' with Sara and Amelia, *eckyducky singing 'Tits and arse', me singing 'Sooner or later; and ~simoneales and Liam O'Kane singing 'Agony' from 'Into the woods'. Yep, all the cool kids were there.
Thanks guys. Hope you enjoy them and I would so, so very much appreciate any money you could spare to send my show to the Fringe. I'll even grovel. And perform cabaret. And reveal my real name on youtube. And now you all know what my voice sounds like.

I was watching the videos, they're nowhere near as good as it was in real life up close but I guess they are a glimpse into the cabaret!
