The Pulp Project:

This is a completely new way for me to work. I was terrified coming into this shoot that we wouldn't be able to pull it off. I had never gone into a project which relied so heavily on the input of others but I was completely blown away. Think of this as a continuation of Fleur's silent, still theatre thought. Image theatre.

This is how we did it:

I read the lyrics of Pulps 'Live On' to Nick. I selected his costume and the space he would be performing in. We played the song on loop and Nick did an incredible silent improvisation lasting over twenty minutes, triggered by the character in the song. Instead of posing, we worked with a continuous line of action driven by the character, lyrics and music and I shot throughout.

I worked with two actors that day, Nick and Kiloran Hiscock (and you will meet her shortly). Both were amazing and I am so happy with how the sets worked out. It was just a delight to watch them at work. There were moments when I realised I had been holding my breath. I was completely enthralled. ~eckyducky (who was assisting me) and I have now learnt that we have to film these, as it is tragic that we were the only ones to see it live.

This is the first half of Nick's solo piece. I will post the other half shortly. Kiloran also did a solo and we shot three duets. We still have another day of shooting to go.
