The magic of namingF       The power of names, eh?

In fairytales, you control a person when you know their true name.  Like Rumpelstiltskin.   Like how the wolf is no danger to Little Red as long as she addresses him as 'Mr Wolf' but the instant she incorrectly labels him 'Grandmama' you know she's in trouble.

Skip to the twentieth century.

'They say Aslan is on the move.  Some say he's already landed.'  And just his name is  enough to show where on the Goodness Spectrum each of the four Pevensie children are sitting at that present moment.  Edmund shits himself.

Harmony posted another version of this a few days ago and we would love to know which version you prefer: [link]

Now, as you may be aware, to raise funds for my theatre company's trip to the Adelaide Fringe Festival in March, the photographer is auctioning off one of these ponies. It is signed by both of us (pretentious, I know, but its all in good fun ;)) and comes with a print of this photo. So go and get bidding now! It is for a VERY good cause!

Incidentally, I'm mighty proud of the makeup here. :D I can't quite believe how much like a pony I look! We were very lucky that the wig was such a perfect match!



Oh and I just feel I should point out, this is mostly a photo but, because of the heart on my chest, it has gone into the world of manipulation. Other than that, I believe Harmony just evened out the skin tone (white makeup is always hell to edit because it is so hard to apply evenly) and disposed of the nipples.

I've always wanted to do this! Where did this idea come from? Looks like it came from my dreams (which I've shared with a lot of my friends). By the way, I like this version best.

Thank you! The concept was from the photographer, Harmony Nicholas. She always does fantastic, colourful, concept-driven art work. She did a little series based around toys. You can see the barbie one up on her DA account.
