I do tend to capitalise of my theatre background a bit, don't I? For years I have been type cast as the victim. It has only been in the last year that I have been given the chance to play more powerful characters and I love it. This said, I don't mind bringing out the victim for photos from time to time. I am rather fond of her. We've been through a lot together: domestic abuse, starvation, manipulative marriages, violence, self-mutilation, waking up dead (and golly that was fun to play), having our feet chopped off and being transformed in to a tree and a concentration camp during the Second World War.

Each role has been incredible demanding both mentally and physically but the trick is not so much in taking on these characters as letting them go at the end of the season. You simply cannot hold on to them all and be sane. And I pride myself on my sanity.
